Hallo All ,
yes avr pin can drive npn transistor (like tip41) via 120 ohm resistor , but i am no luck driving pnp transistor (like TIP42C) using avr pin , any ideas how to drives PNP transistor using avr pin ?

PNP -> R between Emitter and Basis (4K7) this is for getting high impedance between Collector Emitter

additional NPN Transistor. Emitter to Ground, Base with 1K to Port Pin and Collector with 2K2 to Basis PNP

those values are only for testing 5-12V ... you have to optimize them!




If you need more Power, you can google for "mosfet high side switch".
