Hello
Anyone know a RF transceiver Modul like RFM12 or similar that can be work inserted in the sd card connector. I need a solution to use a sd card and a RF Modul. I want design a board wide a sd card but longer on that i can month the RF Modul and insert on the sd card connector.
Are the pins on the sd card connector enough for the RF Modul?
Or exists a Uart interface version of a cheap RF Modul?
Best regards

Hi Pedro,
not the cheapest but digi.com has XBEE and XBEE-PRO different power versions (900MHz and 2.4 GHz versions) that work on RS232 transparent mode with chipantenna or external antenna. The 10mW version is legal in most Countries.
Works well with a CPU frequency of 16 MHz on ATMEL chips because of the baudrate is a bit less than standard. Max. 115200 baud -3.5% = 111111 baud.
Either use 2 STOP-bits with few bytes transfered at a time or like above (16 MHz).
I often use 57600 baud with 2 STOP-bits and it works great.
The Pro version (65mW) works easy up to 1 mile. You need a starter kit board to program the module. Software and Firmware update files are free to download. Modules between 20 -35 USD.
Might be a solution.

Dear Pedro,
having a quick look on the net I found this:
http://www.alpes-deis.eu/en/Products/RFCard868.html
I you prefer to do it youself may I sugest the following:
Use a transceiver chip like made by Nordic or texas (chipcon) to have a thick PCB and better intergration.
Embed a µC on the "RF SD Card" so you can use 2 pin of the sd connector to control the card ( almost what you think about)
You need to handle those to pin's maybe via a mux.
regards,
