All,

I am not sure whether anybody in this forum is interested in the Autopilot eXtension to the AR7212. It works great by now, enables an RC beginner to learn flying and gives the experienced pilot more safety. The AR7212X could become the subject of a new AN (with source included) or I could just deposit the compiled code here to test and hopefully to enjoy it. The code would include a dynamic library for AeroSimRC which is a commercial (but affordable) RC flight simulator which allows to import satellite maps and terrain elevation data for any given location. The DLL expands AeroSimRC so that it can be used as a ground station during real flight with talking telemetry and a synthetic view from the model, or the pilot's view, or a view to the 3D map. It also allows Hardware in the Loop Simulation (HILS) to tune the AR7212x for new RC models. Please find some basic information attached.

Hi Kiedro,

Keep it doing this great job!! I am working now in one BLDC controller for brushless motors all code being written in Bascom !. So far result is good. I'm certain that next year we will have a full "bascomised" UAV autopilot for both airplanes and quattro-copters!
Regards,
Sergiu

Hello Natalius

Your AN#177 had more then 5500 views.
So there is potential interest i would say.
While the more advanced the AN becomes, and we talk about advanced here Wink , there will be less potential users.
I have no idea why there is no big response to your question in this forum, maybe it is not visible enough to the outside web, but i would welcome it.
Keep up the great work.

Hi guy's

Maybe it's a stupid idea, maybe not.
What do you think about this

When you switch on the 9DOF it zero's itself without looking if it's level or not (you hold at 45 degree angle and it says 0 when reset)

Why not use the accelerometers as a spirit level to measure the offset angle
and use that to initialise the whole system, so that it knows it's on a slanted floor

This would be great for quad copters (is my opinion )

I'm not smart enough to program it in the 9dof myself ofcourse

C ya, Wilfred

First, thanks Sergiu and Mark! Helps to stay connected.
Wilfred: In a way this was a discussion on Diydrones before:
http://diydrones.com/forum/topics/why-analog-offsetting-in-dcm?xg_source=activity&id=705844%3ATopic%3A179898&page=2#comments

I'll deposit the code tomorrow. 45 deg stays 45 deg however;)
It means if you have a nonzero pitch and roll when you start
it will be shown accordingly. So your quadcopter on non-flat ground gets informed that it has a tilt.

Hi Sergiu,

did you make a progress with BLDC controller?

Best regards
