Thank you for the alternative, but the idea was to create a matrix of data and keep it in RAM. So I don't think an overlay will work since only a single dimensional matrix can be created.

So why not just create 3 arrays to hold the items:
dim TotalRemotes(255) As Integer
dim R(255) As Word
dim N(255) As Byte
Then to refer to them, just use the array name and the correct index, what is so hard about that? It is exactly what the Type structure would have to do anyway. All you are doing is using a bit different syntax than what the Type functionality does. _________________ Adrian Jansen
