I haven't done any microcontroller programming since university but am very interested in getting back into it as I've a use for an AVR controller on my motorbike. The display and library at SpeedService Colour Display is exactly what I'm after. But I don't think the Active Robots ActiveMicro Board I looked at has enough memory to use the graphics library, but it's exactly what I'm after apart from this.
Can anyone recommend a compromise(can I add a memory chip somehow) or can someone recommend another prototype board for around £50 that would suffice?
I'm looking to use the SHT11 temp/humidity sensor to show temp, humidity, dewpoint and drive LEDs to warn of fog and ground frost. I'd also like to have another LED to show if I've left an indicator on (2 inputs, one output) and a 7 segment display to show what gear I'm in (2 pulse inputs with a 7 segment LED output. Things like battery voltage and water temperature would be good additions eventually.
I'm assuming a 16mHz AVR has enough horsepower, I/O lines and programability to do this and drive a display.
And advice greatly appreciated and many thanks in advance

They have a "stamp" board with an ATmega128 include !
but you need also the dongle to program it ( www.mcselec\commerce)

I just visit
www.chip45.com the have a dongle with the 6 pins connector.
They have also a Stamp with ATMEGA168, It could be enough for you
other, An Application Note AN116 on the site www.mcselec.com explain al lot of thinks on the SHT11
What kind of motobyke are you running ?

Hi,

The next version (available in 3 weeks) will also include a RS232 interface. Imagine: just 2 wires and you can output color information, get user inputs etc.
You can use this board for development and also as the final unit.

Folks
Thanks for all the replies. I ended up buying the ATMEGA8535 MICRO BOARD. I'm currently having trouble (like others here) identifying the chip (ID:XXXXXX) but I'm sure it's down to me not understanding much.
And I got the display from PeterK (thanks)
I ride a Honda Deauville - boring but practical as I will be riding more than 15000kms to and from work each year.
I'm positive you'll be hearing from me soon
