Couple of circuits for clock (oscillator) generators.

16MHz circuit divides by 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 and 64 and produces outputs at: 16MHz, 8MHz, 4MHz, 2MHz, 1MHz, 500KHz and 250KHz.
20MHz circuit divides by 1, 2, 10, 20, 100, 200 and 1000 and produces outputs at: 20MHz, 10MHz, 2MHz, 1MHz, 200KHz, 100KHz and 20KHz.
These are just frequencies I needed for different projects. Use different dividers and start frequencies for what you need/want.
A good source of 20MHz crystal oscillator units are old ethernet boards. These units usually have 4 pins (5v and output plus 1 or 2 ground pins).
A simple unit could be made using a 4060 chip (oscillator/binary divider) using a simple RC oscillator method (see 4060 datasheet) and using the various outputs as required. Don't forget to put a buffer on the output if needed. |
