OK, they keyboard code tested just fine. I made a device that emulates a 105 key keyboard with the "a" key held down. Opened notepad, plugged in my "keyboard," and got a long stream of "a"'s written to notepad. Very Happy

Next, I changed the report to be the shift key and a keys held down and got a stream of "A"'s. So this keyboard test is a success.

They standard key codes for a USB keyboard are not even remotely similar to ASCII, so I will need to write a function to map a string to the proper keyboard codes. I'll release this code over the coming weekend.

Found an important bug/oversight in the library core while working on the keyboard example last night. Will hopefully get it straightened out tonight.

HI,

I am really interested in the V-USB option.
I am wondering, as I cant seem to get a straight answer from all my reading.... using V-USB, could I read/write a small amount of data from a USB memory stick. All my references seem to talk about interfacing a AVR to a PC type situation.....I don't need to do this.

If I am able to read/write then I will have to ramp up my USB learning curve.

Any help greatly appreciated, hell, even a Yes/No answer would be cool.

Thanks in Advance

Baz

In short, no. Not at this stage, anyway.

Some changes would need to be made to the serial engine for it to act as a host, and then you would need to implement the USB mass storage class and finally link that to something like AVR-DOS. Each step is individually possible, but the end result would use a lot of code and perform poorly compared with just interfacing an SD card via SPI.

These guys interfaced to a USB mouse, though: http://courses.cit.cornell.edu/ee476/FinalProjects/s2007/blh36_cdl28_dct23/blh36_cdl28_dct23/index.html

Wow! I'd like to see what you did and I appreciate the respect you have shown me. I don't have any objections, please publish your code. The more examples, the better.

I'm getting close to being able to work on the library again. At this point, however, please consider it beta quality. There is still one pretty serious bug that is not fixed, some features missing, etc. I have to complete a design for a logic analyzer in a couple months. That's what's eating my time. I've been struggling a lot this year, but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel...

About the message time out : i had this too and it is very frustrating to type a detailed answer and then submit it, to find out it is gone.
A long reply i write in notepad. I asked tomi/admin to look into this problem. It might be a setting.

About USB : great to see this. When Igor made first USB device i worked with it. The idea was to make some add on. When the USB chips came i chose them for the add on since they use less resources.
Some applications need USB and have enough hardware resources left. In such cases it is great to spare a chip. And to use the chip of your choice !
I hope you can it all working. I see there was already an application made based on your work. Would love to publish that!

If you want to include the lbx with bascom and/or need a special CONFIG then please contact me.
