|
|
Hi,
Recently I bought an STK500 compatible programmer (http://www.olimex.com/dev/avr-isp500.html).
Unfortunately I cannot get this to work with the built-in native stk500 driver in Bascom (1.11.9.3) but using the external stk500.exe driver it works well.
I prefer to use the native driver since I like the graphical part and only want to use one program (bascom) to control it all!
After hitting F4, it seems to communicate (led on programmer is flashing different colors) but it doesn't ID the chip and therefore cannot read/write to it.
Using the latest AVR-Studio, it works with the built-in driver but I prefer to control it all from Bascom.
I tried many options but without luck, any ideas ?
The only difference I see is that the Olimex uses STK500v2 commands, is this supported in the native driver ?

It seems I cannot send attachements any more...
Recap :
All fields blank except :
Programmer : STK500 native driver
Port : 2
Baudrate 57600
Using the STK500.exe I use (offcourse) different settings except port 2 and the baudrate (57600).

The stk500 clone that i'm using (sometimes) is running at 115K.
I'm not 100% sure but will check it for you tonight if it's still not working.
Edit:
I mailed Mark about the attachements problem. _________________ www.evertdekker.com Bascom code vault |

Evert,
I tried (almost) all combinations including 115k but it doesn't work either.
I also updated the code inside the programmer to the latest Olimex has on their website, unfortunately without luck...

Hi Toon,
I'm using the Avrdude clone and that's working fine (almost).
These are my settings;
It will work with 57K6 and 115K.
There's only a small problem, Bascom will start programming automatic, ignoring the checkbox "Autoflash". After programming the programmer window will be closed and therefore it's not possible to "reach" the fuse and eeprom tab.
Same problem occurs when using the elektor/Avr MKii programmer.
Maybe you can try first the normal stk500 programmer in Bascom.
When using this you must see a dos box;

Evert,
Thanks for this, I do exactly the same. Using the STK500.exe I see an external dos box with same text.
Using native (all speeds) brings up the GUI but it doesn't ID the chip and therefore cannot program it.
Interesting ....
