I download MCS Bootloader zip file, then tried to extract the files, but windows blocked them, because of the inclusion of a trojan.
So I had McAfee scan the zipped file, and McAfee also detected a trojan, and kicked it right off of my computer. Does anybody know what is going on? Shocked

Instead of using the BASCOM-AVR build in programmer you can also use our stand alone Bootloader application. Which is free of charge.

Yes, but in that case i want to change something more on the program.
The bootloader is an internal tool for my compagny with some extra features specific for us, i will strip that down.

When it is ready i post it here.

I can send you the source files (it is written in Delphi) but there are commercial components used.
Without these components the program would not compile.
And you must have Delphi installed on your computer.

Frank.

Dear Frankeman

I already have Delphi installed

I should rewrite it in VB.NET so I need yours only for study.

I need to know which are the step to follow for send file from PC to Bootloader.

If you could send me also this kind of information I'm will be very happy Smile

Hi,

The PC side bootloader is not very difficult.

Make sure the AVR runs his bootloader program, normally done by restarting the AVR.
Open a COM port on the PC with the same baudrate as the AVR bootloader.
Send the value 123 decimal to the AVR, the AVR sends this value back.
Then send the value 0 decimal the the AVR, the AVR answers with a value of 21 decimal.
Now start a Xmodem transfer to send the new firmware to the AVR.

When you study the AVR bootloader source you can see all this happen.
Read also the Wiki about Xmodem protocol.

Frank.

hello Frankman

thanks for reply

Do you know if there are .NET components or dll or OCX that implement Xmodem transmission?

Maybe is this the commercial componets that you are using in delphi?

Thanks

My serial communication is done via commercial components.
But i am sure there are for free.

Do a search for "cport" and you will find probably what you need.
