Session timeouts, cookies, "remember me" at login

I know there have been a few posts a while ago about forum login issues, but...

I'd love to have a "remember me" (aka "keep me logged in") option at login, so that I can come back to the forum after more than a few minutes (like the next day or even a week later).

I see there is some mention of this feature in the forum FAQs, but I've never seen it on any browser/PC. Other phpbb-based forums seem to have this as standard (via a cookie I assume), and it would save me the trouble of logging in every time I visit. I've fallen foul of the (15minute??) session timeout a few times too.

If this option already exists somewhere on the forum, let me know please!

I haven't heard anything on the topic since my post above... it's a handy feature which I use on several other forums so would be nice to have it here.

Regarding Auto Log In: Agreed, it would be very nice!
(As an examle: AVRFreaks Forum)
