Hi All,
Need to control a circuit using a cheap TV type remote control.
It's only an idea at this stage, so it doesn't matter what AVR or brand of remote control I use - I'll buy components to suit. The only components I've bought for this are some IR receiving LEDs.
At this stage, I just want to turn some LEDs on an off.
Anyone got any suggestions, circuits, or code to do this?
All what you need is a receiver for infrared like the TSOP1736.
This receiver uses a carrier frequency of 36 kHz which is
what is used by the Bascom AVR function "GETRC5".

I decoded many ir remote protocols with this metod :
- receive the ir remote code with a TSOP1736 and at the data out of TSOP I conect the Line_IN of soundcard and use Cool Edit Pro (or anything else) to record signal when I press a key on the remote. Cool edit pro has the time line (x axe) gradate in s, ms etc and is very easy to view how long a puls is. Compare then what you se with standard known protocols like here http://www.sbprojects.com/knowledge/ir/ir.htm and even it is not there you can make the decode routine, if is there, and most are, it is very simple to write your own decode routin for every almoust protocol on the market. I did many routine long time ago when I work only with PIC, protocol of NEC, JVC, SHARP, many protocols of each of them . Take care _________________ no brain, no pain
