|
|
Hi everyone!
Iīm at the very beginning with my EASY TCP/IP experiances.
In fact, the board isnīt soldered yet...
But Iīm impatient!
There one aspect, I do not really understad:
How will I exchange data between my PC and the EASY TCP/IP Module?
I imagine something similar to Hyperterminal (for RS232):
Establish a connection, then send and receive data.
Can I use Telnet?
Do I really need VB-Web servers and clients?
Thanks for any hints, tipps and ideas!

Check UDP
With an acknowledge from the receiver it can be very good.

Yes, I read about the the differences between UDP an TCP.
But my question is on a "lower level":
What programm do I use on my PC to UDP-connetct to the EASY TCP/IP module? |

There is a UDP-client you can use. It is called the EDTP Internet test panel and the source in Visual Basic 6.0 can be downloaded from www.edtp.com
http://www.edtp.com/download/testpnl/testpanel_cur.zip
It uses PORT 7 to do a echo of the received characters and it uses PORT 5000 to do some one-way action.
Have fun

That means (at least to me...) data exchange between PC an EasyTcpIp is not THAT easy
Thank you Ben for the links, but I need an .exe!
I donīt know anything about VB
I expected it to be as easy as RS232 via Hyperterminal.
Am I right so far?
Thanx, Marc |

I compiled the Visual Basic source and the source + EXE file can be downloaded at http://members.home.nl/bzijlstra/software/communication/testpanel_cur.zip
After starting the EXE you can change the IP-number.
Give it a try
