Hi.

I have a problem on my computer. I think I have spybot programs that are not being detected by my Norton Internet Security program. Suddenly, I am getting pop up ads, where I did not before (even on this forum!) and when I shut down the computer, I get a window saying that BRDR program is ending and I can click a button to end the program now. I searched my harddrive and did a google search and found nothing about BRDR.

Can anyone recommend a good spybot software I could buy? Or, does anyone have another idea of what could be the problem? Like I said, the Norton Internet Security program finds nothing.

Thanks and Regards,

Pete

Hi Pete,

I use Spybot - Search & Destroy.

http://www.spybot.info/

The software is donationware. (If you like the software you can donate money).

Before you run this software make sure you delete the browser cache.
If you don't delete the browser cache you will get lots of warning messages.

Best regards,

Luciano

Luciano,

Thanks. The only way I know how to do this is to run disk cleanup. Is that correct?

Thanks and Regards,

Pete

Hi Pete,

How do I clear my web browser's cache?

After you have deleted the browser's cache run Spybot - Search & Destroy.

Best regards,

Luciano

Hi,

Well, the bugs are back on my computer and I can't get rid of them using the spybot program you suggested. It worked with what was on my computer back in August, but it is not cleaning up what I have now. Also, I am using Norton 360 anti virus and fire wall. It can't find anything either.

Can you recommend another program? A google search brings up thousands of sites and from what I've read, many of them that claim to clean your PC will actually infect it.

Any other softwares I should try?

As always, thanks.

Pete
