Hello,
Can anyone tell me if I should be concerned about hand soldering a ATMEGA168 in a 32-TQFP package. I guess my real question is the moisture. It has come in a moisture barrier bag that says I should bake it prior to vapor or IR soldering.
I am comfortable soldering it by hand I would like some advice on the moisture part of it.
Luciano,
thanks for that document, it gave me some insights but I am hand soldering and I am not sure how much of a difference that makes.
I am at a loss. I have soldered chips for a long time and I have recently tried to solder the TQFP. I have good solder joints on all the pins but in both cases I can not communicate with the uP. The first one I did about 6 months ago. It was a 2561 and today I tried the 168. What is the deal? I have checked the pins to make sure I have the correct voltages and gnds hooked up but I can not communicate with the 168.
for information I have used the 168 in the DIP configuration and have had great success but not with the TQFP.
