I have just upgraded to version 2.0.12.0 and now have the following error when i try to compile some of my old programs.
"Code doesnt fit. (Change compiler options)
I don't have the compiler options set. It looks like there is a code limit of 4K.
I have registered versions of Bascom avr and 51. |

Hi,
I did the same update and compiled a program that is 11k in size with no errors.
Check "Options - Compiler - Misc - Size warning"

I have re-loaded the complete program. There is no size warning given at all for any of my old file.
I have sent an email to Mark a few days ago with no response as yet.
Surely others have seen this |

I have still not heard back from MCS as yet.
If i change a setting in my old version, things work fine. The setting i save in the options in the new version do not save. This is why i was getting a 4k error, because the old version was set to "warn me at 4k used"
Does anyone know where to change the setting in a text file or reg file? |

I just received an email from MCS warning of a bug in Bascom-8051 version 2.0.12.0. I'm running Bascom-8051 version 2.0.11.0 and when I check for updates from "tools|Auto Update|Info" no new updates show up. How do I upgrade to the newest version?
Here's the email I received:
Quote: | Dear BASCOM-8051 user,
You get this email since you have enabled to get an email when there is an update.
You can turn it off in the register if you want.
(register.mcselec.com)
In the 2.0.12.0 there is a bug that you might experience, it depends on the existence of an older version file.
The new version uses an XML file to store the settings.
But some functions of the DLL looked into the INI file that was previously used.
The fix adds a dll to the BASCOM-8051 dir.
We advise to use the Update Wiz. It will identify the needed files.
This Wiz will work only correct when you have the bsc5132L.DLL file in :
- the bascom-8051 applicatio dir, or the dir you will put the update in
- or, the dir where the update Wiz executable is located.
Best regards,
MCS |

Hi,
I don't think that the updater you are using is not working anymore.
Try the external update which you can download from the mcs site.

Can you provide a link to the upgrade? I looked on the mcs website and didn't see any links for an upgrade.
Also, when did the built-in upgrade option stop working??? |

Hi,
The build-in updater is removed in 2.0.11.0 or 2.0.12.0.
Go to the MSC site and then go to "Product Registration".
From there do a product registration.
When approved you can go to the "Download Lic files" and download the external updater.
