Let me ask you, what good would that do?
The binding to the HW is quite large for bascom, which makes the resulting code smaller.
ESP has its basic either in the form of an extension over arduino(which you want), or in the form of a very successful interpreter.

i dont think the same will be aplicable to mcu's
this happens to a PC hosted, because c++ compiler in pc's are full feautured and very well optimized.
Sum up, the xprofan authors alone, are not able to create such highly optimized code compared to millions of pro programmers daily contributing to c++ compilers
In mcu's thing are diffirent, the speed will not be an increase but nost probably a decrease, since too liitle, if nothing is more optimized in AVR's C compared to bascom
Additionaly every feature in bascom is very propriete coded, so it will need to implement in C libs too. decreasing even more the speed !
the above is not applicable to PC with windows/linux since these os'es are pretty much complete in eveything _________________ Christos
I am programming a ESP32 with Adruino at present to make a wireless web server interface to control my power inverters
and in so many ways Bascom beats Arduino in its user interface and "C" I do not know why it still exists compared to
Bascom and other forms of basic its a mess , brackets are everywhere when there is no need for them basic replaces
them with something that makes sense in English or your own language. I would never consider using anything
but Bascom for the AVRs it produces very robust and compact code.
As a side note I wrote a X-Modem CRC16 on the nextion display and it took half as many lines of code than it does in "C".
There is a Basic for the ESPs its B4R but still not as easy to use as Bascom.
