I agree. Really - Bascom is simply a great thing!
I have already suggested to Mark to introduce some kind of "payment for upgrades".
Recently, I started (again) with Arduino and C. And (again) I got upset. The C syntax is kiling me!
I have Bascom license from 2007 (or even before; I forgot...) and have done a lot of successful projects. And a lot of them were 'for serious purpose', where reliable operation was most important.
Ok, once or twice I had problems with some bugs, but Mark fixed them very quickly. And with each release I was getting more and more excited with Bascom.
At most, when I got "Xmega" support. Xmega is a great family (except for xmega128a1, which I think has a big HW issue, when using Xtal)
I don't know how many licenses Mark sold (it's non of my busines), however, I really hope, he can cover all the effort he gave (and he still gives) into Bascom.
So, Mark thanks a lot for a great tool!
Mary Chirstmas and a Happy New year!

oh yes
Do you know that all HF generator for the radars of Kourou are drived by an ATMEGA32 and a small program writed in Basic BASCOM
maybe they changed it but it was true from 1999 to 2010 then I was retired. ?

Just purchased the Xtiny Addon.
Best way to support MCS and Mark for future development is to put $$$ in their pockets.
Small price to pay for such a GREAT tool!
Keep up the GREAT work Mark and company!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!
Regards,
Mark |

Mark Alberts will determine what is appropriate and I am sure he will so, that he can also continue to support the lifetime Project, that he started many years ago with a lot of knowledge in programming. Otherwise he would not have done it.
So, I think, he will come up with a reasonable charge for renewal and extras, to keep him and his family going.
It is up to him and maybe his wife should push him a bit in that direction...
I did assembly and many others, but I like Bascom. A lot faster to program ..thus more effective.
I do not use it to sell but a lot for RC-hobby and developed many things that were not available at the times.
Thanks to Mark Alberts my developing times are extremely short now.
I hope, everybody gets the best out of it.
Best regards

I've just purchased the Xtiny Addon, Not needed yet, but its a great uportunity to to pay for a great product..
I'm quit sure I'll be happy for the extension later on.
I started with basom-8051 in the late 90's and soon after with bascom-avr. All for hobby use. Starting with 8052/microship assembler, it was a great releaf
to dive into bascom! The best is to to keep the controll over ports, registers both for the microcontroller and the the chips you want to interface.
Thanks Mark and a happy new year!
That goes for all fellow Bascom users of course _________________ Anders |

the 2085 is in beta and it looks good. so when it is published it supports the DB series as well.
there are a lot of new processors like DA , DD, and these will be added on demand.
and the xtiny add on (should probably have a different name) supports or will support it all.
i am enthusiastic about the DB processor. i will post a topic or AN about the 128DB28 later.
while i would have preferred to offer the support for free i found this a good alternative. those that do not need it can continue free of charges. and those that need it often only need it for a commercial app. they do not mind to pay. _________________ Mark |

the xtiny add on supports the xtiny range, and in 2084 also the megaX (m4808,m4809). The 2085 will support the DB as well. so just like the add on supports m4809 it will work for DB series. (and possible other similar series) _________________ Mark |

An Arduino nano style board with a 128DB32 would be very interesting.
Maybe we will see these on ebay some day.

I'm very glad to start with the new AVR 128DB28, but yes a nano card or a similar to uno wil be a nice offer so
Why don't we do it ?
all together, We can draw the circuit and Mark can sale it in the " Bascom fundation" a friend of mine could wire and assemble these cards
I spent a lot of time with a breadboard trying to make an LED flash. (because a bad wire ) a starting kit will be great

I have already posted the design files for a uno MEGA1284 board
might not be to hard to alter them for the 128DB48
just need to find the time.

Hello, dear Bascomers.
I'm A long time Bascom user from Slovenia. Maybe Mark stil remembers me. I worked on High school Centre Novo Mesto for 27 years and I was also spreading the word about Bascom there almost all those years, by teaching my students and presenting them with many possibilities it has to offer. I started with LT, then went to 8051 and later to AVR. I purchased full versions long ago and then then Mark didn't get any more funds from me and this is not right. I use Bascom AVR commercially and I must say, that any real upgrade should be paid. I'm willing to pay for it without hesitation. Even if I don't need it. I cannot express with words, my gratitude for this tool, for all those years. So thank you, Mark.
The real problems begun this year with chip shortage and problems related to this. The ATmega328p is nowhere to be seen, as almost all others are too. I found ATmega324A and 644 in DIP40. I can post links, if anyone is interested. I have stock for about one year, but what then? I don't want to buy PRC fakes, I tried it once and it cost me enough. So I'm searching other solutions for times to come and came across company Logic Green, also from PRC. They produce LGT8F328P in 32 and 48 pin versions. It is supposed to be 99% ATmega328P compatible and in Arduino community they started slowly using it. But I would like to stay loyal to Bascom. So my 1M$ question is: Is it viable to use this MCU with Bascom? Is it possible to make the DAT file for it? I'm willing to pay for that and also provide my assistance with importing them to EU. The price is very tempting. Is it even worth considering or should I rather forget all about it? I'm not an expert in this kind of implementation, otherwise I would do it myself.
I'm sorry for the long post and for peeking out at other manufacturers. I wouldn't do it, if I could buy my chips on a regular basis.
I wish you a merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous new year.

Hi
Yes, it's usable and functional.
There are some limitations that one must be aware of. But it's nothing to be discouraged.
The problem is that there is only a datasheet in a form that is unreadable to a European and the translation into English is a bit off.
