After a day and a half of little progress I decided it was time to ask for help. Several years ago I built a clock that used a WIZ810 module with the W5100 chip to connect to an NTP server to get the exact time and also had a simple web server built in. Most of the server code came from information I learned here - I think the code was from paulvk. It works great.
I am working on another project now using a WIZ820io with the W5200 chip. I have virtually the identical code except that I changed the Config TCPIP code to reflect the necessary changes. When I run the code, I can ping just fine and I get to the SOCKET_LISTEN state but when I try to connect from, Chrome I get a message that "192.168.0.37 refused to connect".
I can post the code but, before I do, I thought I would ask if anyone has had a similar experience or can point to aq difference between the chips that might cause this.
Thanks,
Bob
You best start using the provided samples from the W5200 folder.
all these chips differ. also the socket status constants.
NTP : there are little servers left. too bad since it is a light and simple protocol that does not require much processing.
maybe i can install NTP on the MCS server. _________________ Mark
Tomi installed SNTP on the MCS server port 37.
Make sure to get the latest bascom update which has sntp sample for w5200 too.
also, the new url2ip() can create an IP from an url. _________________ Mark
