I think nothing, Arduino use ATMEL we cannot imagine Atmel kill "la poule aux oeufs d'or"

I'm not sure "Atmel" is the one who will decide what to do.

Acquisitions happen all the time. What it will mean on the long term is never clear. As long as there will be new AVR chips, MCS will support them in BASCOM-AVR.
