Mark has recommended in the past that I go to the SLA and download a fix to particular issues that I was having with the compiler as they have fixed the issue.

Today I wanted to grab the latest beta version as my registered version of BASCOM AVR 2.0.7.7 is exhibiting an issue that has been resolved and listed in the enhancement list.

Yet I see no reference to this download only official non beta versions and my http://register.mcselec.com account page is indicating that I don't have SLA service access.

The last SLA update that I got was on 4/1/2014.

What does SLA stand for? standard license agreement?

Am I trying to get an update or access to an area that I should be paying for? Not opposed to that, just want to understand this.

TIA.

Mark

SLA means service level agreement. It is a paid service where you get a reply within 3 days. And you get access to beta versions.
It is intended for professional customers who can not wait for an answer. While support is free, there is no guaranteed response time. The SLA makes sure you get a reply and when possible, a solution. While i might not answer the ticket, i will monitor all SLA tickets and when possible, i handle them too as well.
This means that customers with an SLA have an SLA icon in register.mcselec.com all the time.
This icon is not visible when you dont have an SLA.

We use this mechanism also to give users access to a temp folder. This access time is restricted to 1 day. It is only intended so one can download a file.
This is only for customers who have registered software. It depends on some factors if we make a beta version available.
Some time ago we made a beta available for FT800 this way.

Mark- Thanks for the explanation. Now I understand how I was able to get this file.

Will check out the service level pricing.

Thanks,

Mark

The SLA is a really good idea.

I think it is a really cheap price for the service offered. I am glad to pay it when it rolls around each year. Great value.

Even if I don't use the extra help in any one year, it is good to know it is there. Mark and the crew have always been helpful and polite, no matter how dumb my questions. Recommended.

I agree as well !!

Subscribing to a SLA is the best money you will spend and it's not that expensive.

Mark is always helpful and offers advice to help you even further with your project.
