|
|
Hi,
I am newbee to bascom and Atmel line of products.
I do not want to make special connections or communications through the pins or ports.
This will be in a second time.
My need is to make calculations, and I discovered (perhaps due to demo version) that it
is impossible to compile lines having more than 3 variables.
So I have to cut calculations in small chunks. Any kind of Basic is capable of what I want to do.
Is it due to the demo version ? (already limited to 4k, saying that it is nothing)
Opinions welcomed !

what do you mean with Quote: | (already limited to 4k, saying that it is nothing) | ?
the demo is old and will be replaced soon since it does not reflect the current version anymore. but it will not change the expression limitation yet. it is still on the todo list. every time i work at it, something more important need to be done.
the limit of the demo is that it is old, limited to 4K and does not offer all libraries. but it is a free version without annoying pop ups. _________________ Mark |

Sorry for my poor english
I mean that the 4k limit is reached very soon.
In beetween dim statements and lines of calculations, compilation is Ok, but I can't have a simulation.
Bascom is very nice in concept as it makes me free from C/C++. I don't want to loose my time learning C/C++
In a second time, when I will be able to handle correctly the I/O's, I will switch to Forth who is so compact.
But it is another story
By the way, as far as I understand correctly, ARM family goes from Atmel to STM processors.
So code is portable in the first time, when it is build only with calculation. Am I right ?
Best regards,

it depends entirely which commands you use. if you use byte, word, long , single or doubles, it all makes a difference. then it also depends which chip you use how large the reset vector table is. many people use the demo for over 10 years. so it will not happen that i increase the demo size. _________________ Mark |

Thank you for your previous answers.
A last question:
- will STM32 line of processors be supported in the futur ? I am looking at the STM32F429I-Disco with
touchscreenLCD. |
