It seems that the "Idle" instruction has no effect during simulation. I have tried it to pause simulation to make a new input to Port 1, and then INT0 interrupt -by button to continue execution/simulation. Any iformation on the
issue, please.

I can now answer myself:
"Much ado about nothing"!
The Idle instruction works fine when running the program on the AT89C2051.
