Hi:
I've ordered a wizfi 210 shield and am wondering if Easy TCP/IP can be used/extended to interact with this new part, or if I'll need to roll a new library. Initially, I'll just be using this for a simple socket server to move data from an Arduino off to a laptop.

Any thoughts about how to proceed or pointers to existing solutions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Phil

Hi pwest,

the TCP/IP libs in BASCOM are based on hardware chips like W5100 or W5200.
As far as I can read in the datasheet the WizFi210 can be only programmed over serial interface via AT comands.

according to some info there would be other firmware that would allow i2c or SPI as well. But i do not know where to download it or how it works.
Serial control with the AT commands make it simple to use. So i do not know if there is much of a point in writing a lib.

Wizf210. Have a look at the blog on this forum, 7 inch display board.

There is a WIZFI210 on it and Hkipnik made a nice applications with it (and his Android cell-phone).

For the SPI firmware check www.wiznet.co.kr

Have fun

As old fashioned as using the serial interface seems, I think I'll be able to implement my current low data volume application with very little code using the AT commands. No reason to make this any more complicated than it needs to be.
