no but i know that win11 can not work on all pc's. it seem to need a special hardware security module. and not all pc's have that.
for most users win11 means you need a new pc.
for me it is a lot of work to migrate all software. so i wait _________________ Mark |

Hi Mark
If you mean TPM, that's no longer the case. If you install manually it will let you in on the minimum configuration of 64bit dual core,4GB RAM.
But if JC offers it automatically it has the required TPM and meets the minimum configuration. The automatic upgrade from win10 works on 8th generation processors and above.
I don't see any substantial reason to reinstall to win11 there. Unless JC is pushing company policy to upgrade.
I have win11 in virtuals,Bascom as a program works, but I have not tried real programmers.

yes it is named TPM. but only inside a VM it is not required. in a normal/real PC it is required. at least to the best of my knowledge.
i do not see a reason why bascom would not work but of course i will check that. _________________ Mark |

this is not about right/wrong.
what you link to is a work around. i would not do such.
instead use a VM which does not need TPM. this is what i mentioned before.
I have seen many articles about win11 and TPM. The communication of MS is not really great which they acknowledge.
we will see _________________ Mark |

We will see later,
I have 2 computers, mine and my wife's, both are recent, I will try to switch my wife's to Win 11 when W11 is available and I will try Bascom and all my technical drawing, music and photo programs on.

good news JP. I read many contradicting news about Win11.
I had no time yet to do a VM. Maybe with Xmas.
Merry Xmas and Happy 2022 ! _________________ Mark |

My (Relatively new) desktop PC asked me to upgrade to Win 11 last week.
I let it to the large download one night after I went to bed, and ran the upgrade the next day.
It has all worked flawlessly!
The only "issue" I have is that I had many programs on my pin to start (?) list that are no longer on there.
I am having to find them as I need them and re-pin them to the easy to find, click to start, place.
Bascom (Beta version), and Studio, and my ARV ISP MKII worked fine.
I haven't programmed a PDI or UPDI chip yet, so I haven't used my SNAP programmer under Win 11 yet.
Merry Christmas, (a day late, sorry), and a Happy New Year to everyone!
