This is a very, very interesting example from the O-Family
https://www.mcselec.com/index2.php?option=com_forum&Itemid=59&page=viewtopic&t=14802
I changed it with the GUI-O app for Android.
I hope O-Family doesn't get angry.
The software was changed only when sending data via the GUI-O serial output www.gui-o.com instead of to the terminal.
The hardware is the same Arduino UNO and MAX30205. A Bluetooth module is additionally used to communicate between the Arduino hardware and the smartphone.
Background picture is taken from https://i.imgur.com/jk8nzjw.jpg
Data communication is one-way. This means that the "Reset" key must be pressed for each measurement. The red line on the graph shows the maximum temperature value, and the orange line shows the current. The measurement time is 2 minutes.
Picture and film say more.
Screenshot, Youtube video from my phone and Bascom file are in the attachment.

hi matjazs
Thanks for sharing. And for the video. It is a good example on how simple it is to connect to android using GUI-O.
I do not think O-Family minds but in case an existing example is used it is good practice to mention the original source of the code.
Anyway, when a user compares the original code and your modification it is a good sample that shows what you need to add/change in order to connect to GUI-O. _________________ Mark |

Hi,
Feel free to use the code I uploaded to the forum!
Unfortunately, can't use "HC06" in Japan because there is no approval for using "HC06" radio wave in Japan.
I am looking for other Bluetooth modules. |

I can't understand why HC06 is not approved in Japan, because all smartphones and e.g. TV boxes use Bluetooth.
HC06 is one of the bluetooth modules. You can find other SPP-C or any other Bluetooth modules on the market that use an UART TTL connection and can connect to an Android device.
I use also BTM112 module. It is more expensive than HC06. https://botland.store/withdrawn-products/1219-bluetooth-module-btm112.html
You can also use BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy moduls)
If this is not possible, you can use the ESP8266 WiFi module with parring instead of Bluetooth. All software and connection (pin Rx Tx) is the same.

With this solution, you can connect to your device from anywhere. |

In Japan, the approval is not given to the HC06 itself, but to a Bluetooth device with an antenna attached to the board, and the strength of the radio wave is measured.
Of course, smart phones and other devices have been submitted for approval with built-in devices.
Although Japan has a small land area, the law on radio waves is strict because so many electronic devices use radio waves.
The HC06 module, which is sold cheaply as a standalone module for amateurs, has not been approved in Japan because of the cost of approval.
Most of the ESP8266 and ESP32 boards are approved and can be used.
I am working on the RN4020 from Microchip. |
