OK I am working out how to use the nextion.
Have made a lot of bit maps
Note the yellow dots are animated and move around the paths
showing flow of power from solar to load , to or from battery and from grid to battery and load.

Will maybe look at 4D systems when I work this one out.

More progress :
Wanting to test my creation on nextion but not having to write bascom code
I used Realterm terminal program
you can send the value to the object on the screen
and then send the 255 255 255
all in the send screen of Realterm
or it will send a file to the screen

Also it is a good idea to get a Serial RS232 Serial Port to TTL Converter Module
off E-bay this enables the powering and control from a PC for testing

Now slider and picture animation for full effect.

https://youtu.be/irECmmy1-ds

The battery can be as it is charging
Or shown as a state off charge
The battery slider can be reversed showing it discharging
The directions of charge in the circle can also be reversed

When I get a bit more familiar with the nextion coding I will start a blog
and go through it step by step with the code
Then program an avr with bascom to control the animation

Note I am only using windows paint to re-do the bitmaps

Hi Paul,
Is there any chance to show video of the display itself and graphic on it?
As a comparison, I can make a similar layout with D4 systems and post the video.
Regards
Pikczu

I will try and make a video
this will take time I must learn how to do it with my tablet
I do not have a mobile phone as I have no need for it
The two I posted here are my first.

More on the Nextion display.
I am working with (learning) how to use the instruction code
its not like bascom more like C which I dislike
its the reason basic was invented.

You can do pop up screens
example: pop up a keyboard to enter data/numbers
