If you use the $EEPROM directive in a program, the desired EEPROM content is written into the file XXX.EPP in binary format
which is right so far.
After that the content is also found correctly in the buffer window. However, if you also use the $EEPROMHEX directive, the desired EEPROM content in Intel HEX format is also written to the XXX.EPP file.
So far so good.
In the buffer window, the contents of the
File XXX. EPP is automatically taken over which makes the content there unusable because the content of the file is now in HEX format.
It is also not possible to read the file via the menu item "Buffer-Load from File" because the now wrong XXX.EPP file is not available in binary format.
As a HEX-file you can't read them either, because the filename extension is not *.HEX.
Is it possible to save the HEX file with the correct file name extension?
or e.g. add a further menu item "Buffer-Load from HEX-File" to the file specified there. Then in any case tries to process the so specified file as an Intel HEX file?
The $EEPROMHEX is only made so you can use another programmer to program the file. For bascom's supported programmers you should not use that option. _________________ Mark
