MP3 compression is probably about as good as you can get. Many people worked very hard to get this right. If better was possible, I am sure they would have done it. I never implemented MP3 on an Atmel, but I bet somebody has. Alternately there are many other processors and hardware doing MP3 compression. Why re-invent the wheel ?
I have not looked at the details you are proposing, but a quick glance suggests it will not work as you expect. I could be wrong. _________________ Adrian Jansen

Dedicated solutions exist, DF-Player Mini, or VS1011 to name a classic, and even these require some understanding of the matter.
An understanding which I simply doubt the TO has, after all I was able to read.
I did really not want to write anything to this childish discussion.
The compression would take so much time, that any real time processing would not be possible.
Remember non volatile Ram? E.g. Ramtron. See the libraries of Bascom!
