ATtiny817 Xplained Mini

I bought this board because it makes a perfect fit with Studio7. It is Plug and Play.
A.F.A.I.K. the mEDBG at the Xplained Mini can also be used to program other chips.
Studio is all C these days. In the past I had little success to learn C, but it is almost a must now.
ATtiny817 Xplained Mini is so nice integrated in Studio7, it cannot be easier to learn about the ATtiny817 and C.

On the other hand: I would like to use ATtiny817 with Bascom.
What I am interested in is the interrupt priority feature of ATtiny817. In my project I need the ADC to have allways first priority, while there is also need for serial control communication.
I think it is easy to program with Studio7 the .hex file that is generated with bascom.

However, there is no .dat file for ATtiny817 in Bascom. I am afraid I have to wait for the next Bascom version.
I hope someone here can give a suitable .dat file for it...

If not: from what I heard it has a lot in common with Xmega, is it feasable to adapt some Xmega .dat? Or does ATtiny817 require changes in Bascom compiler?

the event system looks very similiar to an xmega and they are less than $1 US dollar, is there any plans to support this ?

yes there are plans but like you noticed, it is more a tiny xmega, than a new tiny.
it also uses yes another programming protocol.
while the dat files are ready it will not help much since a lot of other changes are required for these chips.

we do not give a release date. but i would get a free kit. i had to pay for mine Sad

Thanks, the more I've read about the IC, the more it looks like a merge between an avr, xmega, and a PIC with it's 8 bit DAC
