I`ve never use multiple instances. It was even better for me how single instance mode behave but once I need run it on the separate threads and set checkbox "Allow multiple instances" even after restart does nothing. IDE still closes itself.
I must add one word that I have installed versions 2078 - 2079 - 2080 and 2081 on the separated folders on the drive C and they have its own XML file in their folders.
But now I use only 2081. Could be XML file possition in the Bascom folder problem for multiple instances? YES
When I wrote this post I made a test. Rename XML file and then multiple instances is possible
Semi solved
I think Mark take a look for that in the next releases
it works without any problem for me
it does not matter if xml file is located in bascom application folder or the user folder.
as long as you have 'allow multiple instances' checked, you can run multiple instances. that is, of the same version.
different version would work too but i did not test that. _________________ Mark
It is a little shame for me but I can`t reproduce this small inconvenience again after renaming of XML file. Now everything works like it should.
Even after brings the name of the XML file in the Bascom file to the original name Bascom behaves like it should...
I`m still think that some of the settings are readed from XML in the C:\\Users\User\AppData\Roaming...and they are changed after renaming of XML that is in the Bascom folder.
Is the multiple instances option readed from internal XML?
EDIT
I can prove It that I cant disable "Allow multiple instances" without renaming of XML file. I can record a video
...this is something I saw when I try to answear to the forum question and open my XML file folder when XML file is in the Bascom main folder.
Clicking link on the HELP->About tab does nothing if XML file is in the BAscom main folder
When you rename XML file then folder in the Roaming sandbox is opened immediately
I'm not complaining. Ahahaha
