AVR Bascom v/s Arduino Programming Software

Hello,

Recently I have began using Arduino hardware. Arduino hardware can be coded by it's own compatible Arduino software. But till now, I was using Bascom comfortably. I want the advice of forum members on whether to switch to compatible Arduino software or continue using Bascom. Will Bascom provide all necessary commands easily? Will it be compatible? Are there any video tutorials to configure Arduino hardware with Bascom? If yes, then do suggest!

This forum is a BASCOM forum that discusses using ARDUINO HARDWARE, not the software! For using/discussing arduino software you need to join another forum.

arduino and bascom are not compatible. bascom can use the arduino hardware since they have AVR processors. but the software is incompatible.
I would suggest to do a next project(or convert an old one) with arduino and decide what is best for you. It will also differ if you ask on this forum or on arduino forum.

I don't understand why you regarded the post by Karan28 as inapropriate as he wrote "Are there any video tutorials to configure Arduino hardware with Bascom?".
Surely this is a worthy topic for this forum as he was wanting to use Bascom software on Arduino hardware. This is exactly what I want to do as Arduino hardware is cheap and as I am perfectly happy with Bascom software it seems to me that it would be an ideal arrangement for some projects.
Any help using Bascom software on an Arduino hardware platform would be most welcome.

The Arduino platform appears to rely on set hardware whereas Bascom being just a programming language for AVR processors allows greater flexibility. For instance when very low power is needed and speed is not an important consideration a low frequency clock such as a watch xtal at 32kHz can be used. This allows a much reduced micro power to be obtained. Other components can also be selected for low current consumption. I know a sleep cycle can be used to reduce power but some applications don't allow this.

Whether you use Bascom or Arduino depends greatly on the project requirements and both have their place.
