I put this here as most using bascom AVR would I think be interested in these, also it is the most active forum, here is a link to the displays http://www.rockby.com.au/searchres.cfm?select=57&subcode=89&offset=11&stock_no=38609
The cost would be about $10AU 7.5euro plus shipping they are priced around $90AU at other places only 33 left I have already got some, now all I have to do is find time to use them! |

I moved this topic since it has nothing to do with bascom directly.
Commercial posts are not allowed without permission. I know you do not have a commercial interest and that you posted to do all bascom users a favor, but soon the forum will be flooded with links to nice cheap devices. It is hard to draw the line.
So if you want to post links to nice usable devices, it can be done in the various forum. It would be nice to see some example code too then. _________________ Mark |

This display controller also appears to be capable of 4bit/8bit and serial SPI modes at the moment I am fairly busy but I am going to get one working where I can send some commands to it even if its just to turn one pixel off and on. The displays are fairly large so what is displayed on them should be able to be read at 10 to 15 meters so if I can get them working for simple text by storing the characters in eeprom just like the old mono graphics cards I hope to make a simple text display, well thats the plan now just have to find time to do it!
Adrian the display is much simpler than the the one in the post all that needs to be done is to load data into its ram to turn a pixel off or on it really just a block of ram 128 x 240 and its just black or white got to start with the simple stuff so I can learn that first. |

Fair enough, if its addressable in 4/8 bit mode like a block of RAM, that makes it much easier. The one we were discussing in that earlier thread was 'bare' H clock and V clock - also from Rockby.
Now you only have to cope with converting text to bit-mapped graphics via a font table.
You might also want to look at this thread:

I'm not saying that library will work, but it might be a starting point to modify for the UC1608 controller on the LCD modules you have. _________________ Adrian Jansen
