I am currently programming via the "sample electronics programmer" via LPT1. My new laptop only has a couple of USB ports... what are my options?
Thanks in advance. |

Hi,
Try that:
http://www.usbgear.com/USBG-220D2.html
I am not sure is going to work.
Timing could be critical with your LPT programmer.
Development on a PC without a serial port it's almost
impossible. You will need a serial port while debugging or
when your program inside the AVR uses the serial port to
communicate with a PC.

The Atmel STK500 uses the serial port. (Not USB).
Best regards,

Would a pcmcia legacy parallel card work? It adds a couple of parallel ports which can be set for lpt1,2 or 3. What ya'll think? |
