Please forgive the dumb question. Do I need to connect all the earth pins on a mega 32 SMD?
TIA, Dave

The GND pins are internally connected together, so you could get away with leaving 1 or more of them unconnected... but it's good practice to connect all the GND pins to circuit ground to minimise power rail glitches and give the best performance for analog-digital conversions.

The same goes for Vcc connections - connect them all and use decoupling capacitors as advised in data sheets for the most robust performance, especially where you are sourcing/sinking significant current on the I/O pins.
