Searching the google i found this this useful thing. is this thing possible in bascom using set reset commands for glowing either of the led.

you need the series resistors because at start up when the pin has high impedance, high current will flow though the leds.
since the port can source and sink current, it can be done a bit simpler too.
just connect from port pin to anode and cathode with resistor to ground.
and the other one can go from the pin to cathode and anode goes via resistor to vcc.
