Hi my name is Scotty and I was wondering if there is anyone out there interested in building a special robot ya might say. I am a newbie here but I do have some ideas and can program to certain degree of sophistification. I am going to embark on an endevor that I have thinking about for some time now. I thought it would be nice if I could interest someone else in the project so we could put two heads together and have someone to bounce ideas off from. A partner you might say.
If you are interested, please send me a message and we will start from there. I will discribe the project to you and if you are interested then we can start brainstorming. Please , only serious takers and not just interested in what I have for an idea.
May the partnership begin!
Thanks,
Scotty |

Better late than never..
well i might be intrested.. I'm allready developing some robot control boards up to 6 dc motors and 16 inputs..
I'm also very intrested on any mechanical robot / stand alone robot projects where i'm building in..
Also i'm the founder of a dutch robot groep that produce and develope robot applications on the fly.. _________________ Bascom AVR 1.11.8.8 full version

I also am building a robot. My job is getting more managerial and less technical so I decide to have a go. Have no background in hardware or electronics but a strong background in software.
Have been (slowly) working on my robot since Jan 2005. Lots of learn (which I like). Long term goal is an autonomous robot that can play hide and seek with my kids. I think this is achieveable.
Short-term goal is to build a wander-bot (blind but with 4 touch sensors, it just wanders around bumping into things and heading off in a new direction). Started with physical construction (motors, sensors) moved on to circuit design (helped by a friend) and now AVR ATMega16 programming using Bascom (a simplier language than I am used to).
Am now at stage of debugging it. Enjoying the whole learning experience.
Cheers

Hello,
I'm building a maze solving bot at the moment. I'm good with the electronics and mechanical parts, but am not so good at programming.
I just bought the Bascom book, in hopes of getting better at it though.
My goal for this project was to make 3 types of code, based on the type of maze I've built.
1. Where it reads the IR's and just follows the outside wall to the finish.
2. Where it solves the maze based off predefined intersection choices.
3. Where it actually learns from its choices made from previous maze runs.
The first two are pretty straight forward, read the sensor, do whatever is needed.
But the third option is a little harder. My maze is 8x8 feet, with set paths.
So after thinking about how to solve the maze and make it learn from bad choices. I came up with the idea to create 3 variables per intersection in the maze.
Since my maze has 5 main intersections where there are 3 paths to choose from. I figured I'd write the intersection data to these variables and be able to make a better choice at each intersection on the next run by reading the variable data.
Once I get this finished, I plan on adding some encoders and possibly a compass module to allow it to map higher level mazes. |
