nm7010a doesn´t init (newbie question)

Hi!
I´m trying to run a easy tci/ip twi adapter board with a nm7010a by an atmel mega 8 on 8 mhz. the lds on the rj-45 connector are running but all the sample programms stop after the config tcpip line.

- first of all, is the atmel mega8 suitable for such kind of application?
- i assume, that the nm7010a also run with 5v ?
- i it possible, that is an software configuration error, or must it be a hardware error ?
- any ideas ?

First of all, don't assume anything.
The nm7010a datasheet tells you, 3v3 and NOT 5v.
There can be dammage to the module.

And did you hookup the module to the correct pins of te mega8. And
modify the config tcpip line in bascom. ?

I have no trouble to let the nm7010a working with, mega16, mega32, mega162, mega64 and mega128.

If the program stops, at the config line, (not after as you think). You have an hardware or software mistake. The cpu can not communicate with the module.
