The output stays high no matter what Pwm0b is set to?
Not understandable, as from simulation the timer works ok, I rather think you did not really try every value for pwm0b.
And it may be , that y ... |

Any hint?
Read The Fine Manual
Then you'd already figured it out:

Hubert,
...it is not really in the scope of this forum.
you're right, a look at the thread and I'd say it was borderline from the start and ended being Bascom-specific with the third post, the rest ... |

open a book or read here:
Good. Your own reference proves you're wrong.
Normally it should be perfectly clear to you: if according your own crafted diagram, for an ATMega48 the output logic level l ... |

My theory is just that at 5V with the recommended 220 ohm series resistor the I/O will be OK. Even if you replace
the LED with a jumper, the current flowing through the I/O will never exceed 22.72 m ... |

I do a test tonight with a tiny44 and directly 3.6V to prevent resistance of LED (green LED voltage from 3.5 to 4V).
If this means what I guess, leaving out resistors, this is definitely not a good i ... |

40 mA?
I did refer to the statement in your post
can drive up to 40mA
and not your choice of resistor value.
The current thereof however is lower than in your calculation
5V / 220 ohm = 22.72 mA

Luciano,
(the I/O pin of an AVR can drive up to 40mA, verify the datasheet)
it's not sound and not recommended to drive the chip to it's maximum ratings.

Maybe because:
