Only the demo version is free, but it's still very useful for small hobby projects. Download/info here: ...

You are missing a "wait 1" after the "reset portc.1" - without this the relay will turn off, but only for a few microseconds!

Try this to make the LED/relay turn ON for 1 second then OFF for 1 seco ...

The prescaler affects only the timer clock rate, not the CPU clock rate.

The CPU is clocked from the crystal oscillator (or whatever clock you specify in the fuses) and the timer is clocked by the ...

The mega32 can use a 32kHz watch crystal directly (on pins 28/29 of DIP package, no other components needed!) to keep time of day fairly accurately (provided it's always powered on). You can just use ...

I haven't heard anything on the topic since my post above... it's a handy feature which I use on several other forums so would be nice to have it here.

Assuming the regulator is NOT powering the AVR, you should be able to disable the regulator, send the AVR to sleep, and it will hold the regulator in 'off' mode. When you wake up the AVR, you can enab ...

AFAIK, everything (SRAM, registers...) is perserved during the sleep modes. It's just the internal clock signals that are disabled/stopped, in varying combinations depending on sleep mode.

As for t ...

Here are some pics - both of these were used in development with the STK300 board (connect to PortB) and are OK for pr ...

You say your device (sounds like an LCD module??) requires input in hexadecimal, but with the Printbin statement you are simply giving it several bytes of data - not hex or decimal, just plain byte va ...

I'm working with Wattsy (who started this thread) on the project which first caused us problems with the UART1 buffered RX failing on the M128 and M2561 in v9.0, having tried to upgrade from v8.3.

How are you connecting the MP3 player to the microcontroller? Or are you trying to use the simulator to run your code? You should be able to select the com port in Bascom: Options>Simulator

An Ross says, you need to use an external transistor (either MOSFET or bipolar) to swtich the backlight power - the current is too high for an AVR port pin.

To get the backlight to switch off "auto ...

A lookup table would certainly be faster than all that math, but to get good precision (if necessary) you'd have to dedicate a chunk of memory (program flash) to the table. That's not so bad because y ...

Did you get Visovian's code working ok?

The tiny45 is actually a smaller chip (8 pins) but it has 3 PWM channels, using timer0 and timer1 (both 8bit).

The tiny2313 has 4 PWM channels - 2 on time ...
