here is the code that I used to continuously loop making files or directories. In either case, only 16 were created ( according to my PC)

Do I need to bother with subdirectories - why can I simply put my files ( there will only be 2 or 3) in the root directory?
How big can these files be?

Well it was thanks to you that I found the problem. I ran SDinit ( verbose compile ) alone, and found that the sw got into a continuous loop, where it stayed for 30 seconds at a time ...
