So fingers have 3 properties:
Pressure - user defined. Good for finding dodgy solder joints
Heat - source, or if unlucky, sink.
Capacitance - about 50pF.

We use the Dorji units and reliably get 300m outdoor and 100m indoor with them. They would probably go further, but we don't need them to.

My opinion without any evidence to back it up is that it is a hardware problem rather that software. Transients can really spoil your day.

Have you tried putting a cap on the power rails directly at the sensor? Something like a 1uf tant will get rid of most induced noise while providing a little up-time for the current pulses.

The &B signifies to the compiler the data following is binary. A directive exists for hex as well, this being &H. So the following lines are equivalent:

Hi Dave,

I have 4 different boards with that we use about 30 a month of (it varies) with ATXMEGA32A4 on. We just use a AVRISP mkII. The boards do not need any components to allow programming.

Been there, but with 12.000 instead of 12.288MHz.

Then there were the diodes on a bandolier that were marked with the wrong end as the cathode. Not all of them.....

Thanks for the replies.

The compiler does not spit out an error message, but I don't like not ticking all the boxes in a software routine. Call it hard-won experience.
