I'm guessing I can use Config Clockdiv=1 (seems to work) although the CLK/8 fuse remains ON..?

Is there any technical difference between setting the Fusebit in the programmer, vs using Config Clock ...

See what this does for you...
$regfile = "attiny44.dat" 'register file for MEGA128-16
$crystal = 8000000 '8MHz crystal

The

Gimsk = &B00100000

line stops the programme running at all...

If it is commented out, program never goes to sleep, it just runs mainloop programme as normal...?

I would like to use PCINT9 (portb.1) on ATTiny44 to wake the device from powerdown when the pin goes low level. If I have read the datasheet correctly this should not be a problem.. howeve ...

The Bascom AVR help file GETADC.

If you run the code of my last post in the Bascom simulator
you will see that with the parameter "offset" you can change

This does select the internal 1.1V voltage reference.
Config Adc = Single , Prescaler = 16 , Reference = 2
