1. draw your hardware schematic(basic version will do -- i usually just draw the micro, and reset resistor pull up to vcc, a gnd, and any io in basic connection)

isis proteus is advance simulator
you make the schematic of your hardware in it and load the program(hex,elf,bin) to the microcontroller
and off you go, you can simulate it like real hardware

bit by bit shift just do it manually or if you want to use shiftout command then specify for only 1 bit
for byte shifting, just use byte variable or specify 8 for the shifting length

for the calibration, i usually give pc calibration program to the client to save, update, or even clear it all, so no problem with that kind of problem |
