I will continue my quest |

Thanks Mark
I did a port-for-port replacement (different pins of course) but wasn't sure about things like timers, SPI, etc. |

The 2561 has become VERY difficult to obtain and, if you can, the pricing is absolutely astronomical (around $70 US per). However, the 2560 is still quite available and still for reasonable cost.

And where those variables are actually stores within RAM, yes? |

Is there any practical difference between declaring a variable this way:
Sub Whatever
Dim Array(10) as Byte
<code of sub>
End Sub
versus this:
Dim Array(10) ... |

When the voltage drops below "29", de-activate a relay. When it rises above, activate the relay |

In the schematic representation we can see that the fixed terminals are 1 and 2, while the cursor is the number 3, which is represented by an arrow.
I don't follow |

Yes. connected to physical pin 1 through a 470 ohm resistor with a 5.1 volt zener diode to ground on the pin 1 side |

1023 = 5
29 = X
X = 0.1417 voltios.
Yes but that doesn't explain why I'm only seeing .5 volts as a logic high (the transition above and below works ok) |

I've been using the ADC in Mega128, 2561 and 2560 for years and never had an issue. However, I have a need for a very simple voltage comparator and figured I'd press some Tiny13's I have laying around ... |
