That's a good point. I don't know why the index is inconsistent between LOOKUP and LOOKDOWN. The index should be the same either way. Either make it 0 or 1 based but not both.

Well, here is the way it works (when working correctly). DATA in flash begins with the index 0... so if there is a first element match, the return should be 0 (not 1).

Readeeprom can already accept the label name as part of it's argument so you can jump to Label2 whenever you wish.

Perhaps Usartc0_status.6 was set by some previous print or other anomaly. Start with a known condition first by clearing TXCIF and see if that produces a different result...

Chris... for the purpose of testing you should comment out the buffered serial config code (both ends). They only add complexity to a simple process.

Chris,

When PRINTBIN'ing from an array, I don't think Bascom is smart enough to know what you want. Just because you DIM'd the array as SINGLE doesn't mean Bascom knows to send 4 bytes for each arr ...

Am I correct in that to send a numerical variable I would use printbin and to receive it I would use INPUTBIN?

Use 8-bit data instead of 4-bit data (search the forum and look in the help file for CONFIG LCDBUS).
