A jumper is used to
select the power source. For low power devices an external power source should
be used. For devices that work on 5V, the internal power supply can be used.(jumper set)
The pin layout is shown on the lower
right. This is the standard 10-pin header as suggested by Atmel.
MOSI – Master Output, Slave Input
LED - the control signal for a LED and or optional multiplexer
RST – RESET signal
SCK - CLOCK output
MISO – Master Input, Slave Output
VCC - the optional power supply 1,8 … 6V
GND - the ground of the programmer
unit
Attention:
When the connection is not made properly, you might damage the
programmer unit as well as the target microprocessor. When the internal power is used, the target system should not draw more
then 40 mA
Pin 1 does not always have a red marker on the flat cable. This is no problem with boxed headers, but with normal header, check the careful that you insert the connector properly. All units after Juny 2006 have the proper marker.
The programmer unit requires
a driver. Look in the help for the installation procedure.
