Dear odinfang68,

It appears that the help description for setipprotocol has been forgotten,
I will send a message to mcs support. This will take me about a week
and then I will post the description here.

Regards, Barry

hi,

yes, this was forgotten.
the setipprotocl sets the IPR register. This is needed when you use the socket in RAW mode such as in ICMP mode.
The W3100A PDF does not show too much info about it. I found out you must write '1' to this register in order to use ICMP mode that is needed for PING.
