Is there a lib planned for EVE2 chips FT81x in near future?
FT810 is now available at digikey.
It has several advantages against FT800.
e.g. more RAM_G ...
I think the FT810 is pin compatible with FT800 and could be used with same PCB.
The difference in programming should be small.

No, not in the near future. This is not a simple change. And it requires new hardware.
I also do not have any idea how many users are using the FT800 options which took a lot of resources to implement. So i wait for more requests. Till so far yours is nr. 2 _________________ Mark |

I too use FT800 lib. ☺
This is no surprise to MCS since I took
some minor part in the FT800...inc that Peter Maurodas and Mark
struggled so hard with.
I am saying this to incourage Bascom'ers to consider using ft800
In your products. Ft800 is extremely powerful and versatile.
It is not just an ordinary display chip. It is a graphics engine that can provide amazing functions and unburden your AVR from tasks otherwise impossible.
It is of course very hard for MCS to prioritize when not knowing who is using what libs. How can we help to give MCS an idea of the popularity of certain features of Bascom ?
Perhaps a survey?
MCS could issue one.
The forum could also organize some statistics.
How could this be done. By a moderator?
Just an idea to make Bascom even better.
Finally I want to send Christmas greetings to all of you.
Keep programming and innovating.
Merry Christmas to all.

I have used Bascom on two separate projects using the FT800 and have a current project using the FT810 device. I assume there are quite a few that don't post that use this functionality. I would be willing to help test out a new library on HW I have (EVE FT810 Develompment Module with 5 Inch WVGA TFT) VM810C50A-D if that library does move forward. I have various Xmega and Mega boards I could test with. |

Ok, i got myself an FT810 board. I studied the datasheets and samples.
It appears the FT810 is compatible with the FT80x.
There is a new memory map and thus commands have a new address/value, that was simple enough to change.
The lib needed adjustments too since it has some commands coded.
But to my surprise, it does not work so good. Only simple commands like cmdlogo works.
I found this code which i dont understand :
Ft_Gpu_CoCmd_Logo(phost);
Ft_App_Flush_Co_Buffer(phost);
Ft_Gpu_Hal_WaitLogo_Finish(phost);
dloffset = Ft_Gpu_Hal_Rd16(phost,REG_CMD_DL);
dloffset -= 4;
#ifdef FT_81X_ENABLE
dloffset -= 2*4;//remove two more instructions in case of 81x
#endif
Ft_Gpu_Hal_WrCmd32(phost,CMD_MEMCPY);
Ft_Gpu_Hal_WrCmd32(phost,100000L);
Ft_Gpu_Hal_WrCmd32(phost,RAM_DL);
Ft_Gpu_Hal_WrCmd32(phost,dloffset);
I mean, the past where the dloffset is adjusted for the FT810. Nowhere in the docs i can find something that explains that.
Let me know if you have a clue. _________________ Mark |

interresting, i ask me also on the Embedded World 2015 how it is possible to use it with bascom -> for me, video -> EVE2 need QSPI (Q=quad).
In future, hopefully Bascom support EVE(2) as native display.
Thanks. _________________ Bascom: 2.0.8.5

ahem, i do not get it? what do you mean?
p.s. problems are solved, FT810 support is now functional. But still do not get the reason why for FT810 the offset is adjusted. _________________ Mark |

This are really good news!
Is there a chance to get a beta for testing the FT810?
If yes, I will order a FT810 chip and will test it on our FT800 PCB. |
