no it is not XP. I fixed the error. And i produced the problem about selecting a single character with your settings. I did not found the reason for that yet.
I love win10. I is best of win7 and win8. _________________ Mark |

The problem that Meister is having with selection of whole words when using the mouse is somewhat similar to what I see.
In my case, if I put the cursor within a word and press the left mouse button to select that entry point, the cursor jumps to the space just before that word. The arrow keys must then be used to reposition the cursor inside the word to continue editing at that point.
Windows XP sp3
I did raise a support ticket for this, but Mark could not reproduce the issue.
I can live with it, for all the other good stuff in 2.0.7.9 _________________ Adrian Jansen

Please give the ticket so i can check it. It might be the same or not.
As i wrote previously, i was able to reproduce the problem Meister reported by checking the = problem. It happens when there is a special delimiter in front like () , +. But i only get this with kimmi's setting file. _________________ Mark |

In the mean time i found the reason for the odd selection problem : it happens with some fonts. when you select consolas (a clear nice font) this problem will not occur.
I will fix it for the non block fonts too. _________________ Mark |

The support ticket re the selection problem was AHN-34922-735
I will try your suggestion with the consolas font too. _________________ Adrian Jansen

Consolas font made no difference to my problems with text selection, or the repeat key effects.
I will revert to system font, which I think looks better.
Certainly the idea of graying out sections of code which are not part of the current compiler switch setting is really useful !
But I did notice that one of my constructions like
#if _chip = 29
...code...
#endif
Where the chip number is the compiler code number for the chip, based on the regfile setting, did not show correctly. I can see why, since the editor has no prior knowledge of what chip is being compiled for. _________________ Adrian Jansen

hi Adrian
I looked up your ticket. that was a problem that holding a key gave only 1 key. And the rest of the keys when the key was released. I could never reproduce that. But i also see i do not have a settings file from you.
So it would be best if you send me your settings file.
about the font : you need to close the window and open it again with the new font setting. I see a new font property (monofont) is not updated when you chose a new font so it only get updated when you open a file.
if it doesnt solve the digit select problem, i can have a look with your settings file. i also would need some small example code.
the _chip is unknown. it is simple to change :
in the dat file, add the _chip to the CONST section
[CONST]
_ROMSIZE = 262144
_CHIP= 43 ; m2560 _________________ Mark |

@ Mark
I sent my settings file and a sample to support, using the same ticket number.
Quote: | in the dat file, add the _chip to the CONST section |
I note there is already a constant named _CHIP in the [DEVICE] section of the dat file. So one probably has to be careful that you use the same number for the value ?
Interestingly defining the same _CHIP constant in the [CONST] section does not create a compiler error, And yes, it does then show up as active ( not greyed out ) when used in a conditional compile statement - Magic !
I guess that also means one could define a constant like _CHIPNAME in the dat file and assign a meaningful string to it, then use that as the parameter in a conditional compile. That would be better than having to look up the _CHIP number assigned from the DEVICE section. _________________ Adrian Jansen

yes, you need to take care to use exact the same _CHIP setting.
the DEVICE setting is just setting info, these are not constants known to the compiler. Only registers and constants are known to the compiler. So adding the _CHIP to the CONST section is ok.
In the mean time the problem with the selection has been solved. will have a look at your settings file to see if i can duplicate the repeat key problem. _________________ Mark |

The key repeat problem was also solved : this is just a setting in windows configuration. Just set the repeat delay to a lower value. _________________ Mark |

you best send an email to support : i do not know if the problem is for all your code, or just 1 ? in any case we need the files (zipped) to check it. _________________ Mark |

Ok, i send email.
Just checked and it seems that for XMEGA does not work, for ATMEGA is ok. The problem is also such that for XMEGA malfunctioning function "lookup", receives unrealistic values from the table. Include a relevant example. Greetings _________________ www.midaz.com.pl |
