Using the updatewiz you can get the 2079 beta. There is no setup. You must download the lic file for the wiz from register.mcselec.com. setup.exe will remain 2078.
- The help has a 'what is new' section with links. it is similar to the history.txt.
- There are a lot of improvements and new stuff but the high lights i mention here :
- FT801 support by Peter Maroudas. There are new demos as well. And the help contains a finished index for ft800/ft801. notice that the samples are stored in ft80x folder. Include files have been renamed as well.
- W5500 support. Use the W5200 samples.
- Rainbow LED WS2812 support. We cooperated with Galahat from the German forum to integrate his lib. These leds are fun to play with.
- update PDF uses FTP for better server performance. It also works quicker. Just take care it uses FTP and port 211.
- Big font lib included made by Adam Siwek. You need to unzip these if you want to use them.
- EADOGXL240-7 I2C added
- Kamprog programmer has full bascom support.
- SSD1306 I2C OLED driver. Notice that i2c does not support reading data, so there is no pset, line, or circle.
- the one i like most personally : editor can show unused code in conditional compilation. Edit, Show Excluded Code menu option.
Often there are a lot of different conditional compilation switches. It makes the code hard to read. This option will grey out all non executing code.
Something like :
const x=1
#if x=1
print "ok"
#elseif x=2
print "2"
#endif
report problems here or to support. support is preferred as i monitor this forum irregular.

Hi Mark,
thanks for the new version.
My first test:
In the Variables list in Code Explorer the Registers are listed but apparently cannot be hidden.

that is by design. But when there are enough requests i could add an option to filter them away. _________________ Mark |

Hi,
I hope there will be many requests....Also consider the silent majority....
I think most users don't use registers explicitly.
So for those the variables list now is less easy to handle.
I have about 10 variables which were fitting nicely on the screen.
Now I have to scroll to find the bottom ones.

For I = 100 To 2900:
I cannot select individual digits or letters by the mouse. Keyboard works.

In order to serious check something we need info :
- version, Windows version, example code and steps to reproduce the problem. I can select digits just fine. I tested on win7,win8 and win10. In this case let me know the font you use. I use consolas. I did not test all windows fonts _________________ Mark |

I use Win7, 64bit.
Happens also with consolas font.
Code: | For I = 100 To 1900 |
I can easily reproduce it since it always does it like that (selecting whole word or number).
Here in the Forum editor i can select the single letter. |

I don't have the time right now to look for the settings file.
But the selection (marking) behavior looks to me as some settings issue.
In Word 2003/2007 there is an option to mark whole words or not.
Maybe something like this is hidden in the registry or elsewhere.
I don't know what is underneath your IDE....
I will be offline till Monday.

thanks i could reproduce it with your settings.
in 2078 and up, you can load a custom setting when you specify the name of the xml file on the command line : example bascavr.exe kimmi-settings.xml
I will now check what is causing this. _________________ Mark |
